Etymology
'Peace' started being used as a greeting in the 1960s. 'Out' comes from a standard way of finishing a conversation on a two-way radio -- 'over and out'.

Etymology Before drinking water from a water source, it is wise to make sure that the water is safe and clean. So you 'test' or evaluate the water before you actually drink it.

Comes from the first letters of 'Very Important Person'. Pronounced 'vee eye pee'.

Etymology
An 'egg****l' is the thin, white outer coating of an egg. The ****l is very thin and breaks easily. So if you are 'walking on egg****ls' you are in a situation where you could break something ( or get in trouble or ruin everything ) very easily.
