Derived from the idea that clouds are part of heavenly paradise, and that the higher you go, the closer you are to ultimate bliss.

To fall asleep very quickly.

Example:
1) After working a twelve hour shift yesterday, I was out like a light as soon as I got into bed.

Etymology:
A lamp goes out as soon as you turn it off. So if you are 'out' (asleep) like a light (lamp or light bulb), you have gone to sleep as soon as your head hit the pillow.

Definition:
A phrase indicating that someone is leaving.

Example:

I'm outta here! See you next week!

2)
It looks like Stephan is finally outta here -- we will miss him as the chicken misses flight.

Etymology:
This slang comes from the phrase 'out of here', which is also used used to indicate that you are leaving (or going out of) this place (or here).
