استعارات انجليزية
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
في هذه الصفحة سأحاول بين فترة وأخرى وضع بعض التعابير الاستعارية المستخدمة في اللغة الانجليزية والتي تسمى Idioms وكلما وجدت تفاعلاً اكثر كلما جلبت لكم تعابير أكثر أرجو الاستفادة للجميع . أول تعبير استعاري هو : Smell a Rat How come the front door is open? Didn't you close it before we went shopping? I'm sure I did. I can't understand it. Frankly, I smell a rat. Me, too. I'm convinced that something is definitely wrong here. We'd better call the police. للمعلومية : التعبير ستجدونه باللون الأحمر ومعناه في نفس الجملة باللون البنفسجي ومعنى هذا التعبير بالعربي : أشم رائحة ريبة , أو هناك شيء مريب . ولكم جزيل الشكر كلية أصول الحب |

the second idiom :
Go to the Dogs Have you seen their house lately? It's really gone to the dogs. It's true that it has become run-down and in serious need of repair, but I'm sure that it can be fixed up to look like new. Go on brother, don't worry about the replies.
Some members would like to share here but they feel incapable to contact in English. anyway This idiom has the same meaning (synonym) for -go to the pot which means as you mentioned something becomes ruined. Keep Going On Brother. I'll be here even if I don't reply :) Good Luck |

It tells us not to make a decision now. It says: wait till an event happens then make a decision.
Sometime we have to make a decision before and be ready for what might be happened. Go On Brother. |

I am concerned abut reading the etymology of the words, idioms and expressions.
For this idiom I laughed when I read the following saying: It is said that the liars' tongues were ripped out and fed the king's cats as a punishment. Come On Brother .. I'm looking forward more. |
